Account Executive

Monk is an AI-native accounts receivable platform for B2B companies. We automate billing, collections, and payments so finance teams can turn outstanding invoices into cash, faster.

We believe the AR stack is broken and the finance function deserves much better. We are bringing AI, speed, and real craftsmanship to a space that has been ignored for too long.

The role:

We are looking for an experienced AE who can source and close midmarket deals. Not someone who needs a BDR to fill their entire pipeline or a manager to tell them what to do. We need people who have done this at a startup before, crushed their number, and want to do it again at a company where everything is still being built.

We do not care about your education, age, or past titles. All that matters is your track record and whether you can win.

What you will do
  • Prospecting & lead generation: Identify and target potential mid-market customers through any means necessary. Build relationships with mid-market prospects to drive pipeline and revenue..

  • Negotiating & closing complex deal cycles: Manage the full customer lifecycle. Lead path-to-close with prospects, addressing their objections, concerns, and close deals. Navigate processes and stakeholders efficiently, working with other team members.

  • Develop Sales Strategy: Develop and improve strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.

  • Help define sales motion: We’re an early and fast-moving team. Your work will directly impact how our GTM function operates and succeeds.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work effectively across our company to shape Monk’s solution to meet customer needs. Collaborate closely with engineering team to stay updated on latest advancements and tailor solutions to meet client goals.

What you'll bring
  • 5+ years of experience and proven track record of selling complex software into mid-market industries, with ability to execute on a consultative, value-based selling methodology

  • Ability to independently manage a large pipeline running end-to-end complex deals.

  • World-class verbal and written communication abilities for stakeholders ranging from executives and direct users of Monk.

  • Winner mentality to contribute to the development of our sales process, culture, value proposition of Monk’s product and resources for the team to succeed.

  • Prospecting & lead generation: Proven track record of identifying and targeting prospects through research, networking, and cold calling.

What we do not need
  • Domain expertise in finance or AR. Any B2B SaaS background works. We will teach you the space

  • Logo pedigree. Schools and marquee company names are not what we select for. Only results and attitude.

What we offer
  • Competitive OTE with top equity

  • Full health/dental

  • Large qualified pipeline where it is yours to lose

  • Freedom and trust. You will own the full sales cycle and have real authority over how deals get done

  • Motivated teammates who ship fast and hold a high bar

  • Tools to succeed. Many resources from eng, product, partnerships poured into making you successful and close deals

  • Experienced founders with real traction and happy customers

  • An opportunity to help build the sales org

  • Build in person in Flatiron, NYC. It is more fun

We hire for intensity, craft, and attitude. Everything else can be learned.
