As the Account Executive – PEI Golf, you will serve as a strategic business development leader responsible for the profitable growth of an elite brand portfolio including Original Penguin Golf, Callaway Apparel, and PGA TOUR. You will act as a "hybrid" professional, expertly managing a premier established book of business while aggressively hunting for new market share across department stores, sporting goods retailers, and e-commerce platforms. Your role is to blend data-driven analysis with a passion for the game to displace competitors and optimize retail floor space.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Portfolio Management: Nurture high-value accounts to ensure long-term partnership health while executing seasonal business plans aligned with global brand objectives.
- Business Analysis & Optimization: Leverage sell-through data and market trends to conduct regular business reviews, identifying opportunities for inventory optimization and assortment expansion.
- Market Expansion & Hunting: Proactively identify and close new business opportunities to increase brand footprint and strategically win floor space from competitors.
- Relationship Engineering: Build and maintain deep, multi-level relationships with Directors of Golf, Retail Buyers, and key decision-makers.
- Product Authority: Present seasonal collections with expertise, emphasizing technical innovations and the unique DNA of the PEI Golf brand roster.
- Field Presence: Maintain a high-frequency presence within the territory, with expected travel of 30% to 35% to service the account base effectively.
- Experience: 5–7 years of wholesale apparel experience, specifically within the Golf or Premium Sports/Lifestyle sectors.
- Strategic Acumen: Proven ability to manage the "big picture" of retail, including a strong command of margins, turn rates, and retail math.
- Analytical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to translate complex sales data into actionable strategies that drive revenue for both PEI and the retail partner.
- Industry Knowledge: A deep-seated understanding of the golf industry, its market trends, and the surrounding lifestyle.
- The "Hunter" Mentality: A self-starter who is energized by prospecting, cold-calling, and the challenge of winning new business.
