🌟 Role overview

GovWell is hiring an Account Executive to help scale our go-to-market motion with local governments across the United States. This role is responsible for owning full-cycle sales opportunities, building strong relationships with city and county leaders, and consistently closing high-impact deals.

This position is open to NYC-based candidates who can work 3+ days a week in person from our HQ in Manhattan. We have a primarily in-person culture and value being together in office for a substantial period each week, although the exact days and hours are flexible. This role requires travel up to 25%.

💻 What you’ll do
  • Own the full sales cycle for cities and counties across the U.S., from initial discovery through close.

  • Close new logo deals that are $15-40K ACV through complex multi-stakeholder sales processes of 2-3 months.

  • Run effective discovery conversations to understand government workflows, constraints, and decision-making processes.

  • Lead product demonstrations and manage multi-stakeholder buying processes typical of public-sector sales.

  • Travel as needed to meet late-stage prospects and represent GovWell at industry conferences and events.

  • Contribute to improving sales messaging, process, and execution through iteration and feedback from the field.

  • Partner closely with leadership, product, and customer teams to deliver a strong end-to-end customer experience.

  • This role will not be responsible for sourcing their own leads.

  • 0-3 years of experience closing complex software deals.

  • Strong listener and communicator, able to uncover customer needs from imperfect information and clearly articulate value.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple deals, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously.

  • Self-directed and motivated, comfortable operating in fast-moving environments with evolving processes.

  • Resilient and positive in the face of setbacks, with a strong sense of ownership over outcomes.

  • Motivated by impact and aligned with GovWell’s mission to improve how governments serve their communities.

  • Willing and excited to travel for deals and industry events, up to 25% of the time.
