What began in 2017 as an idea on the back of a napkin has quickly become an award-winning, fastest-growing communications firm working with some big-name consumer and B2B technology brands. At SourceCode, we’re focused on bringing brains and hustle, humanity and technology, creativity and business intelligence back to public relations.

The Role: Accounting and Operations Manager

We’re looking for a detail-oriented, high-energy Accounting and Operations Manager to join the SourceCode team. Reporting to the SVP, People and Operations, with a functional “dotted line” to the CFO, this role is the operational heartbeat of the agency. You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day execution of our financial and business workflows, ensuring our systems are accurate, our data is clean, and our leadership has the visibility they need to keep the agency thriving.

Financial Support & Execution (85%)
  • Transaction Flow: Own the AP/AR process. You’ll ensure all transactions are executed accurately, reports are generated on schedule, and any internal or external billing queries are resolved with agency-standard speed.
  • Client Financial Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for client procurement and finance teams; you’ll proactively communicate regarding invoice status, resolve billing discrepancies, and ensure a seamless payment experience.
  • The Monthly Close: Partner with the CFO to support the monthly financial close. You’ll be responsible for ensuring all income and expenses are correctly coded in our systems and accounts are reconciled to the penny.
  • Fiscal Reporting: Support the CFO in auditing bank statements and monthly activity. You’ll provide the essential documentation and "ground-level" data needed to produce the monthly financial statements that steer our strategy.
  • Budgeting & Contract Admin: Provide administrative support during the annual budgeting process and track the lifecycle of client contracts, ensuring the executive team has a clear view of upcoming renewals and document status.
Internal Operations (15%)
  • HQ & Office Management: Oversee the day-to-day "vibe" and functionality of our physical space. This includes managing vendor relationships (cleaning, snacks, supplies), handling incoming mail and check deposits, and ensuring the office is a high-functioning environment for the team.
  • Process Improvement: Don’t just follow the process—help us make it better. You’ll work closely with the SVP to identify bottlenecks and implement policy or workflow updates that keep our operations as innovative and efficient as the tech brands we represent.

Data Integrity: Act as the guardian of our operational data, ensuring that timesheet entries and internal records are accurate and ready for reporting.

Where We Work

This is a New York City-based hybrid role designed to balance focused remote work with the collaborative energy of our headquarters, located conveniently near Penn Station.

  • In-Office: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
  • Remote: Monday, Friday

RequirementsWho You Are
  • The Experience: You have 3–5 years of professional experience in an operations, finance, or business-support role—ideally within a fast-paced agency or tech environment.
  • The Bridge: You’re comfortable shifting gears between a "finance" mindset with the CFO and a "people/operations" mindset with the SVP.
  • Data-Driven: You love a good spreadsheet and have a knack for organizing messy data into clean, readable reports.
  • Operational Mindset: You enjoy the "how" of things—finding the most efficient way to get a task from point A to point B.
  • NYC Agency Energy: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
  • Systems Savvy: You’re comfortable navigating SaaS tools and financial software to keep the agency running smoothly.
