Objective: 

The Accounting Officer will oversee and manage tasks within the department. Supervisor will handle various duties and responsibilities across different departments and will also assist the finance team by preparing financial statements for the department.


RESPONSIBLITIES and DUTIES:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including journal entries and month-end close processes.  
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
  • Assist with regulatory reporting (e.g., FFIEC, BL-1 Call Report) in compliance with FDIC, Federal Reserve, and other regulatory agencies.  
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.  
  • Collaborate with internal departments to support audits, both internal and external.  
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and banking regulations.  
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities.  
  • Establish accounting policies and procedures, aligned with company’s targets
  • Recommend and help implement improvements to accounting procedures and controls.
Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
  • Hands on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High Level of accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information that must not be shared with others.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel and Word.

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • University/College degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 5 - 10 years of accounting/banking experience preferred.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

Compensation: $75k - $85K
