Position Purpose: In this Actuarial Analyst position, you will support the actuarial team primarily focused on pricing Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace plans. This role is intended for individuals at the start of their actuarial careers, offering hands-on experience with pricing models and the rate filing process, as well as an opportunity to gain knowledge of the competitive and regulatory landscape of the ACA market. Assist in financial analysis, pricing and risk assessment to estimate outcomes. Additional responsibilities may vary per actuarial team.

In this Actuarial Analyst role, you will:
- Assist in the development and review of pricing models and assumptions to help determine adequate premium rates
- Query, validate, and analyze data to support pricing recommendations and inform financial projections
- Maintain and update recurring actuarial processes, including experience reporting for internal and external requirements, e.g. rate filings
- Document work processes clearly and help ensure accuracy of results and performed analyses
- Research industry trends, legislative/regulatory changes, and competitor actions to support business needs
- Learn and apply actuarial concepts, methodologies, and exam knowledge to real-world business problems
- Develop and analyze complex financial and statistical reports related to quality, cost and effectiveness of healthcare services
- Prepare budget and forecast and analyze financial results related to expectations
- Assess cash reserves and liabilities enable payment of future benefits
Preferred: Experience with Excel for data analysis and modeling; exposure to R, SQL, or other programming languages; health actuarial experience a plus.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 0-3 years of actuarial experience.
License/Certification: Passed one SOA actuarial exam - REQUIRED.
Location: This role is fully remote within the Continental United States, with a primary working time zone of CST (flexible), and a preferred, but not required, location near Chicago or St. Louis.

Pay Range: $56,200.00 - $101,000.00 per yearCentene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law, including full-time or part-time status. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives. Benefits may be subject to program eligibility.
