TITLE: Actuary, Pricing

DUTIES: SCOR Global Life Americas Reinsurance Company seeks Actuary Pricing in Charlotte, NC

Job duties: Perform transactional pricing activities for deals within approved authority limits. Conduct experience analysis, including client experience and mortality assessments. Set and validate pricing assumptions, identifying and quantifying risks associated with the assumptions and the proposed transactions. Recommend and assess risk mitigation strategies and structural solutions. Develop actuarial models, including liability population cells, data tables, and other structures essential for accurate pricing. Run models and perform sensitivity analyses, ensuring accuracy and consistency of results. Analyze the impact of changes in assumptions, methodologies, reserve requirements, product features, and premium structures. Create documentation that is complete and clear, that captures both assumptions and reasoning, and that addresses the interests of the intended audiences. Work collaboratively with client deal team to gain approval from Global Business Acceptance for deals above local authority limits. Work with US Actuarial Pricing Team to deliver a quality and timely priced product to meet SGL (SCOR Global Life) and customer needs. Complete necessary analysis required for client requested treaty amendments, make recommendation on acceptance of proposed change. Develop and maintain strong partnership with marketing actuaries and account executives. Work with Corporate Actuarial staff and counterparts to continually improve data modeling, establish valuation numbers, and hand off controls. Assist other departments on various corporate projection work (e.g., budget projections, Value of New Business, etc.). Research technical topics, share knowledge, provide informed opinion of best course of action, and implement decision in the pricing process and models.

Qualifications

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: validation of detailed cash flow, reserve pattern, and capital component output; working with international and national pricing development teams; proficiency with pricing platforms and related pricing tools; developing and recommending pricing assumptions; building and reviewing actuarial models to price new business requests utilizing pricing assumptions and analyzing results to determine final pricing result. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master’s degree in one of the above listed fields and three (3) years of experience in the above-listed skills. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies.
