Business Unit Overview:

Fundamental Equities (FE) sits within BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group (PMG), which encompasses Fundamental and Systematic investing across Fixed Income, Equities and Multi-Asset Strategies.   

The FE business is a key division at BlackRock with over $300bn of assets under management, across 100+ strategies and over 200+ investment professionals. FE teams use traditional analytics to pick stocks and assemble coherent, deliberate and diversified portfolios. Through cutting edge technology, sophisticated models and embedded research, our investment management approach provides outstanding performance for our clients and is an important part of the BlackRock brand.

 

Your role and impact:

You will partner closely with Fundamental Equities (FE) AMRS ExCo Members and Senior Portfolio Managers managing their complex administrative and business support needs. You are a self-starter with excellent anticipation and problem-solving skills who has high accountability, strong communication skills and the ability to operate independently.

Your responsibilities:

Administrative Support:

  • Complex diary management, accommodating different time zones seamlessly.

  • Maintenance of dynamic schedule. Arranging meetings and ensuring the manager arrives at meetings on time and prepared.

Travel Logistics:

  • Strategically coordinating robust international and domestic travel. Mapping out and organizing airline reservations, hotel accommodations, car rental reservations, and other official documentation when needed.

  • Process and track expense reports and reimbursements using the Concur system.

Strategic Coordination and Calibration:

  • Anticipate and collate necessary documentation and contextual briefings ahead of meetings ensuring the executives are prepared and prepped in advance of all meetings on their agenda.

Communications and Collaboration:

  • Serving as the initial point of contact to external stakeholders; including meeting and greeting clients, coordinating conference rooms and refreshments, and managing incoming and outgoing communications in a professional and timely manner.

  • Confidently and competently correspond with a range of internal stakeholders including Executive management offices and senior members of staff.

  • Collaborating closely with various teams across the firm in the coordination of multi-group, large-scale meetings, for example: weekly ExCo meetings, off-sites, etc. Oversee production of quarterly town halls.

Project Assistance:

  • Production of presentations, reports, and documentation where needed.

  • Supporting projects on an ad-hoc basis.

Core administration:

  • Demonstrating thoughtful management of leader’s time against priorities and ensuring that they are prepared for meetings, including making recommendation to leaders regarding prioritization, delegation and organization.

  • Coordinating business travel with awareness of potential conflicts; processing the relevant expenses in line with company policy.

  • Taking ownership of key deliverables and structuring work to achieve goals; seeing the big picture and understanding the long-term impacts.

  • Maintaining and leveraging a broad network of contacts; effectively communicate and partner with internal stakeholders to achieve goals; serve as key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Acting as a “Subject Matter Expert” on technology capabilities and BlackRock policies and procedures; adopting to change and directing others on new best practices, tools, processes, etc.

  • Leading new initiatives and proactively driving action.

  • Understanding the rhythm of business of the executive office/team, adjusting scheduling according to business priorities.

  • Coaching and developing Administrative Talent for the future.

  • Orchestrating large meetings, townhall events and off-sites, managing all planning details and coordination.

Skills & behaviors:

  • A minimum of 7 years of related administrative experience.

  • The ability to exercise discretion and independent judgement, comfortable operating with ambiguity.

  • The ability to make decisions and act quickly when information is limited; can assess the criticality of potential risks, prioritize and escalate appropriately.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), active listening skills and the ability to recognize different views to help build consensus.

  • A deep understanding of big picture goals and how to prioritize effectively to achieve them.

  • The desire to gain a deeper understanding of technology and processes and the ability to educate others.

  • An ability to lead by example, model and inspire the highest ethical standard, and serve as a role model for Administrative Professionals and others.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$104,500.00 - USD$200,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
