Lazard is one of the world’s preeminent financial advisory and asset management firms. Our people and culture make the difference. While global in presence and reach, ours is a close, collaborative community of just over 3,000 professionals. Lazard is a place of continuous knowledge sharing, skill development and relationship building, where professionals grow and succeed together. Our entrepreneurial culture, flat structure and embrace of individual differences, allow creative ideas, original concepts, and unique perspectives to drive our business forward — and for careers to take flight.

AI is the central pillar of Lazard’s 2030 Growth Strategy. Our ambition is to become the leading AI-enabled independent Financial Services firm. This is to say we are interested in AI beyond the scope of operational efficiency. We see AI and Contextual Alpha as two primary factors underpinning our future success and better outcomes for our clients.

We are looking for a Senior Technical Lead to design and build a centralized platform that enables consistent, transparent, and well‑controlled use of artificial intelligence across our firm.

We’ll trust you to:

  •  Define and own the vision, architecture, and roadmap for the firm’s AI control framework platform
  • Translate control objectives (e.g., governance, explainability, monitoring, approvals, auditability) into practical, reusable platform capabilities
  • Ensure the platform supports the full AI lifecycle, from use‑case intake and model development through deployment, monitoring, and retirement
  • Partner closely with Model Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Privacy, and Audit to ensure platform capabilities align with internal policies and external regulatory expectations. This includes GDPR, DORA, Sarbanes Oxley and other regulatory needs.
  • Ensure the platform enables consistent evidence generation for internal reviews and regulatory examinations
  • Drive adoption of the control framework platform across AI product, engineering, and data science teams
  • Establish metrics to assess control effectiveness, platform usage, and operational resilience
  • Provide senior management with transparent reporting on AI control maturity, coverage, and risk themes
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on how controls are operationalized through technology

You’ll need to have

  • 10+ years of experience in technology platform leadership, risk technology, or enterprise controls, including senior leadership roles
  • Demonstrated experience building platforms that operationalize governance, controls, or risk frameworks
  • Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics operating models
  • Experience working within industries that are heavily regulated and with high standards (financial services strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to operate at the intersection of technology, risk, and business leadership
  • Excellent communication skills and sound judgment in complex, high‑impact situations
  • Experience designing or implementing model governance, AI control frameworks, or supervisory tooling
  • Familiarity with regulatory expectations related to model risk management, explainability, and operational controls
  • Hands‑on exposure to data platforms, AI pipelines, MLOps, or platform engineering
