The Role

As an AI Research Engineer on the AIDA team, you will design, build, and enhance AIDA's knowledge architecture, focusing on scalability for extracting knowledge from unstructured data, deep analytical reasoning, and integration with large language models. You will work closely with end-product teams to refine AIDA's capabilities and lead a team of engineers focused on advancing knowledge-driven AI.

Core Responsibilities

• Knowledge Architecture Development: Expand and scale AIDA’s knowledge architecture, enabling robust knowledge extraction and reasoning capabilities from unstructured data sources.

• Agentic LLM Integration: Integrate knowledge structures with large language models within an agentic architecture for accurate question answering, reporting, and analysis within AIDA’s environment.

• Product Collaboration: Work closely with end-product teams to ensure seamless integration of knowledge systems with real-world legal applications, optimizing for relevance and accuracy.

• Evaluation and Testing: Implement continuous testing and evaluation protocols on large-scale, real-world data to enhance AIDA’s performance and adaptability.

• Data Curation and Annotation: Oversee collaborations with data annotation teams to curate high-quality datasets, essential for building reliable models for knowledge construction.

• Team Management: Participate in hiring and lead a team of engineers within Epiq AI Labs dedicated to advancing knowledge architecture.

Technologies We Use

• Backend languages: Python, C#, Java.

• Database systems: Lucene, PostgreSQL, Qdrant.

• Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.

• CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Gradle.

What We Require 

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

● Proven experience in designing and developing a knowledge architecture.

● Strong grasp of Backend languages: Python, C#, Java; Database systems: Lucene, PostgreSQL, Qdrant; Containerization and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes; CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, CircleCI, Gradle.

● Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to quickly incorporate feedback and uphold high-quality standards.  #LI-KS1

The Compensation range for this role is 180,000.00 to 210,000. USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. 

Your specific salary will be determined based on several factors:

  • Location-based market rate for the role

  • Your abilities in relation to the job specification

  • Performance during screening and interview

  • Pay parity with the wider team in the considered location
