Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our tight-knit, high-caliber engineering team. You’ll be the first dedicated SRE, responsible for the infrastructure operating our algorithmic trading systems. This is an opportunity for someone with solid infrastructure management experience but ready for more ownership—someone eager to apply their skills and be a leader in a fast-paced, high-performance environment where daily deployments and continuous iteration are the norm. Our trading systems operate in a latency-sensitive, high-throughput on-prem environment, integrating with global exchanges, market data feeds, and client order flows. You'll work closely with developers and dev ops to design and maintain systems that are highly available, scalable, and fault tolerant.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage reliable, scalable infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code principles
  • Automate operational processes — monitoring, deployment, incident response, and recovery
  • Instrument and monitor systems to proactively identify and fix bottlenecks and failure points
  • Participate in incident responses, and postmortems
  • Drive improvements in service reliability, performance, and observability
  • Collaborate with software engineers to embed reliability into application design and deployment
  • Continuously improve CI/CD pipelines to support faster, safer deployments

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure engineering roles
  • Strong experience with both on-prem and cloud infrastructure management
  • Proficiency with scripting or programming (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of Linux internals, networking, and system performance tuning
  • Deep experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, etc.)

Important Notes:

  • Must be authorized to work full time in the U.S., BTIG does not offer sponsorship for work visas of any type
  • No phone calls please, the applicant will be contacted within two weeks if successful
