Role Overview

The Allocator’s primary objective is to leverage data-driven analysis to manage product distribution and optimization across stores and e-commerce. This role plays a key part in achieving company sales, gross margin, and inventory productivity goals by maintaining optimal store inventory levels, monitoring performance, and determining the right product mix by gender, category, style, and size.

Responsibilities

Inventory Analysis & Replenishment Management:

  • Analyze sales performance, stock levels, and store feedback to identify inventory and assortment opportunities.
  • Ensure the right balance of product within assigned gender and category areas.
  • Develop and execute initial allocations and weekly replenishment strategies based on buy plans, sales trends, seasonality, promotional activity, and visual merchandising initiatives.
  • Monitor SKU performance by store and channel; recommend replenishment, transfers, or consolidations to maximize sales and inventory productivity.

Pre- and In- Season Activities:

  • Pre-Season develop and maintain size curves to optimize sell-through and ensure proper product flow from Distribution Center to stores. In-season replenishment from DC or other stores. 
  • Enter orders and updates into the inventory management system; forecast inventory flow on a weekly/monthly basis.
  • Partner with Buying and Planning to manage markdowns and price changes in system, ensuring accuracy and timely execution. Manage entering promotions into the stores system.
  • Oversee inbound receipts, inter-channel transfers, and DC timing to support logistics Time & Action calendars and ensure smooth movement of goods.

Cross-Functional Communication

  • Partner closely with Buying, Planning, Finance, Stores, Visual, and Distribution Center teams to align on business needs and inventory strategies.
  • Balance quantitative analysis with qualitative insights from stores and field leadership to make informed allocation decisions.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively with cross-functional partners and senior leaders on inventory-related decisions and business updates.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Manage complex reporting by pulling and synthesizing data from multiple systems and sources into Excel to analyze business performance.
  • Deliver insights to identify risks and opportunities, maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate advanced Excel proficiency; experience with planning, allocation, and POS systems strongly preferred.

Time Management & Agility

  • Adapt quickly to changing business needs and priorities while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment with strong ownership, follow-through and organization.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in allocation, planning, or inventory management within a retail or CPG environment
  • Strong analytical, Excel, and retail math skills a must
  • E-commerce experience a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort interacting with stores and cross-functional partners
  • Logistics or supply chain knowledge—including DC processes, inbound receipts, transfers, and Time & Action management a plus
  • Customer-centric mindset with a proactive, collaborative approach and strong attention to detail.

This a hybrid role, with 4 days in our NYC office 


PAY RATE: $70,000/yr-$85,000/yr
