Job Responsibilities 

  • Partner and support the Alternatives Investment Distribution Specialists to drive growth and sales in MSIM alternative investment products within the MS Wealth Management channel. 
  • Collaborate and partner with colleagues on the Eaton Vance sales team, across wirehouse, RIA and other channels. 
  • Develop proficiency in the areas of direct private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge fund and private equity fund of funds, and managed futures. 
  • Build a deep and intimate knowledge of the various investment strategies across the MSIM Alternatives platform. 
  • Establish a business plan to identify and meet with relevant Morgan Stanley Financial Advisors and relevant contacts within the assigned territory(s). 
  • Leverage relationships throughout the Wealth Management business to build awareness and educate Financial Advisors on the MSIM Alternatives platform. 
  • Work alongside Financial Advisors to perform demand assessments and determine investor appetite for new products. 
  • Profile MS financial advisors to expand the network of MSIM alternative investment users. 
  • Managing and utilizing CRM database to track Financial Advisor/client interactions. 

Job Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree 
  • 3-5 years of experience preferably in an investment management or wealth management/financial advisory setting 
  • Alternative Investments experience a plus 
  • Understanding of the financial advisory business 
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently and effectively 
  • Need to be enthusiastic, self-motivated and a team player 
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once and meet associated deadlines 
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills 
  • License requirements: Series 7 and 63

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $135,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
