Description
The Alumni and Community Engagement Specialist supports the development and execution of strategies to build a thriving alumni network that promotes lifelong connections with SANY. This position focuses on planning, implementing, and assessing alumni engagement initiatives, fostering relationships, and providing ongoing support to alumni.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and execute alumni-focused events, including reunions, networking opportunities, and career development sessions.
- Manage and maintain an accurate and updated alumni database for targeted communication and engagement.
- Foster meaningful connections between alumni and current students through mentorship programs, workshops, and alumni panels.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of alumni communications, including newsletters, social media updates, and event invitations.
- Act as the primary liaison between alumni and institutional departments, ensuring seamless collaboration on initiatives.
- Facilitate fundraising initiatives targeting alumni participation in supporting institutional priorities.
- Provide logistical support for alumni-related activities, including venue selection, vendor coordination, and on-site event management.
- Identify and engage with "lost" alumni to reintegrate them into the community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., communications, social science, education, marketing) or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning, alumni relations, or community engagement.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms for professional engagement and communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
