About this role

Business Overview

The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with BlackRock’s global financial institutions clients which include insurance companies, banks, and other financial firms. We pride ourselves on crafting and delivering customized investment solutions, advisory, and analysis to our sophisticated client base. The group is one of the industry's largest managers of insurance company assets, and our insurance practice is a strategic focus of the firm. 

Role Description

We are seeking an analyst for our Financial Institutions Group to support the global Insurance Strategist. This role sits within the Financial Institutions Group and is pivotal in driving the growth and success of BlackRock’s global insurance business and platform. The team develops global thought leadership content and drives senior-level engagement with large and impactful insurance clients and prospects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong interest in insurance, meticulous attention to detail, and strong analytical and writing skills to conduct independent research and effectively communicate with senior management.

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with the Global Insurance Strategist on driving insurance-specific thought-leadership and content strategy that aligns with the firm's objectives and initiatives across regions. This involves:

  • Assist in creating internal and external materials for key stakeholders and clients
  • Read and study third-party research to identify noticeable trends and information, then concisely summarize and communicate findings effectively
  • Perform independent research on industry trends, competitor data, and client information
  • Partner with other teams within BlackRock to develop solutions and structures that meet client needs
  • Aid in reporting and communication with senior internal stakeholders
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests or analyses

Qualifications

  • A master’s or bachelor’s degree
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into clear and concise concepts
  • Superb organization, time and project management skills with a proven ability to prioritize and ability to function effectively under tight deadlines and constraints 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally across geographies and work with multiple stakeholders 
  • Comfortable working and collaborating in a dynamic, small group environment that demands flexibility and a DIY attitude
  • 1-3 years of industry experience in finance, asset management, and insurance, or actively pursuing a CFA designation is a plus
#EarlyCareers For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$85,500.00 - USD$105,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
