Business Overview
Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications.
It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.
The Role
Support strategic initiatives for the North American Investor Relations (IR) function, partnering closely with regional Global Client Solutions teams (Business Development, Product Specialists, Consultant Relations) and global IR colleagues.
Drive process improvement, procedural analysis, and operational excellence across the IR function, ensuring best practices are embedded and scalable across the NAM business.
Contribute to how we segment, service, and support clients across North America, with a focus on delivering a best-in-class experience at every stage of the client journey.
Play a supporting role in planning and executing global IR events such as the Annual General Meeting (AGM), and help manage our Investor Advisory Committees across various funds.
Contribute to cross-functional projects and transformation efforts impacting the IR function, with a focus on strategic execution and change delivery.
Support internal stakeholder engagement and collaboration, acting as a thought partner across teams to ensure alignment and progress on key initiatives.
This is not a traditional client-facing IR role — rather, we’re seeking someone who enjoys project-based work, has a strong consulting mindset, and thrives in a strategic and operationally focused environment.
Strategic Planning
Collaborate with Global Client Solutions teams (e.g., Business Development, Product Specialists, Consultant Relations) and IR colleagues globally to drive aligned outcomes.
Assist with process optimization and procedural enhancements across IR, with a focus on scalable systems, segmentation frameworks, and service models.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of global events such as IFM’s Annual General Meeting, and manage Investor Advisory Committees for key strategies.
Support execution of key client engagement touchpoints (e.g., site tours, due diligence sessions thought leadership forums) in coordination with broader teams.
Business Performance
Assist with developing stakeholder mapping strategies, segmenting clients and consultants to enhance service delivery and deepen strategic engagement.
Act as a key internal connector across investment teams, operations, and global distribution to ensure cohesive and responsive client support.
Maintain high-quality internal documentation on client engagement strategies, but not as a primary client relationship manager.
Policy and Process Management
Partner with and support the North American IR team, bringing a strategic and high-performance mindset to team culture.
Seamlessly integrate into the broader North American GCS team, actively fostering a collaborative and values-driven environment.
Serve as a role model for IFM’s values, demonstrating integrity, accountability, and client-first thinking in all activities.
Your Background and Experience
Experience
3-5 years of professional experience, ideally in consulting, strategy, or operations within financial services or private markets.
Experience driving strategic initiatives, process improvement, or change management in a complex, cross-functional environment.
Exposure to private markets or institutional asset management preferred.
Comfortable working in a project-based role with diverse stakeholders across regions and functions.
Strong commercial and strategic mindset with a genuine curiosity about private markets and institutional investors.
Familiarity with the investment lifecycle and operational processes that support institutional investing.
Awareness of global institutional client dynamics, including consultants, asset owners, and key influencers, is beneficial.
Comfortable navigating internal systems and tools that support client and investment data.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead initiatives from ideation through execution.
Proven ability to identify opportunities for improvement, design new processes, and implement best practices at scale.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and synthesize complex information.
Collaborative mindset, with the ability to work across time zones and teams in a fast-paced, global organization
Experience planning and delivering high-impact events or managing governance bodies (e.g., advisory boards or committees) is a plus.
Qualifications
- Tertiary, ideally with a business or marketing focus
- Post-graduate qualification a plus, but not required, e.g. CFA, CAIA
- Relevant FINRA licences, e.g. Series 7, 63, a plus, but not required
The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Exact compensation amount may vary and will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual’s experience, skills and qualifications. Total compensation for this role includes eligibility for a discretionary performance-based bonus.
$130,000 - $170,000
