The Analyst, Payments Risk- Shadow Risk Monitoring performs functions in support of Key Merchant Services and Integrated Payments ISO and Payment Facilitator program. Responsibilities include merchant onboarding and ongoing merchant risk monitoring. Responsibilities also include oversight of merchant onboarding and ongoing merchant risk monitoring conducted by clients within Integrated Payments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Key Deliverables:
- Daily merchant risk reviews and investigations
- Review and decision concurrence requests for new applications, funding holds and releases and follow-up
- Monitor daily suspended transactions
- Oversight reviews of client's merchant onboarding and risk monitoring results; initiating independent underwriting and risk investigations when necessary
- Contribute to oversight meetings with internal risk and compliance partners
- Clearly communicate with internal staff regarding pending merchant applications and requests for additional information
- Clearly communicate with clients and external partners regarding merchant investigations, requests for information, and risk decisions
- Assist with new client due diligence and approval
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience with Aperia required
- Minimum 3+ years credit risk or Merchant acquiring risk experience; Merchant acquiring risk highly preferred
- Understanding of credit risk, fraud, and risk mitigation practices
- Ability to analyze merchant details and provide recommendations for approval or decline based on credit policy
- Ability to communicate risk decisions to internal stakeholders, clients, and merchants
- Understanding of various sales distribution models
- Experience with suite of Microsoft Office applications: (Basic Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to analyze merchant activity trends and investigate suspicious activity
- Ability to effectively escalate and present risk-mitigation recommendations to risk leaders
- Experience complying with Card Network rules and requirements
- Understanding consumer harm indicators
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS
- Expertise in merchant acquiring credit and risk management
- Knowledge of merchant boarding systems and processes
- Knowledge of merchant acquiring risk systems including external tools such as e-commerce monitoring
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Analytical and organizational skills
- Financial credit risk analysis a plus
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $63,000.00 - $96,000.00 annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.Please click here for a list of benefits for which this position is eligible.
