Role Description

As a Sponsor Coverage Analyst, you will gain exposure to the full spectrum of investment banking activities while developing a deep understanding of private equity strategies and the FinTech landscape. Analysts in this group work on live transactions, business development initiatives, and thought-leadership content that directly shape the firm’s market presence. You will play an integral role in managing day-to-day team activities, including investor targeting, portfolio analysis, LBO modeling, comps analysis, market research, and specialized projects in a fast-paced environment. The role also provides opportunities to interface directly with senior private equity investors and portfolio company executives, offering unparalleled professional exposure early in your career. This position offers an exceptional platform to build technical, analytical, and client-facing skills. By design, it equips Analysts with the tools and expertise to grow into future leaders within the FinTech and capital markets ecosystems.

In this role, you will:  

  • Manage investor targeting and outreach strategy across active and prospective clients
  • Leverage data and market intelligence to identify key business development opportunities
  • Monitor and publish insights on private equity themes, valuation trends, and FinTech M&A activity
  • Support buy-side advisory work, including idea generation for sponsor-backed companies
  • Participate in high-profile discussions with leading FinTech investors and portfolio company CEOs
  • Develop project management and operational infrastructure alongside in-house engineers

Qualifications:  

  • Undergraduate or Master’s students graduating December 2025 or earlier
  • All majors considered; Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred
  • Minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA
  • Demonstrated interest in financial analysis, research, and FinTech
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Poise and maturity to interact directly with senior executives
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization required (FT Partners will not sponsor work visas)
