***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL or Atlanta, GA. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates with East Coast working hours as a prerequisite.”

We are looking for an Analyst, Sponsorship Valuation to join our Strategy team. In this role, you will conduct sponsorship valuations that inform the fair market value of a proposal, renewal, or new partnership offering. You also will assist the team in refining our methodology, while harnessing the data of a team that evaluates more than $2 billion in partnership assets each year.

This role is ideally suited for a data-driven and numbers-oriented professional who is eager to blend proven analytical skills with a personal passion for the world of sports and entertainment.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Assist with – and at times lead – all phases of sponsorship valuations, including research, data modeling, analysis, and production of client presentations 
  • Learn Octagon’s sponsorship valuation methodology and workshop approaches that drive it forward
  • Enter deals and valuation data into a database of partnership data and identify insights to the benefit of Octagon and its clients
  • Develop an understanding of our clients’ business and marketing needs 
  • Work with the strategy team on additional projects, as assigned 
  • Collect competitive and market data, and present relevant insights as actionable strategies for brands or properties

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in sponsorship, analytics or consulting 
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities 
  • Formal education or previous professional experience in an analytical and/or insights-driven field (could include economics, marketing, statistics and/or advanced math/stats courses)
  • A process-oriented thinker who thrives on quantifying abstract concepts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey complex ideas in a straightforward way
  • Comfort driving and executing several initiatives simultaneously
  • A highly motivated self-starter who is intellectually curious
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, and data visualization experience. Experience in SQL, R a plus

The base range for this position is $50,000 - 60,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure, and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
