About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and entrepreneurial Analytics Engineer who will help champion the development and scalability of our advanced analytics product suite. As a ‘data as a service’ company, we see our analytics engineers as the backbone to making our data actionable for our customers. You will be required to understand the full technology from the web data we utilize as an input down to the use cases actioned by clients. This allows you to build scalable solutions supported by business logic related to e-commerce and retail. You'll report directly to our CTO and have great opportunity for ownership.

Responsibilities & skills
  • Write data pipelines using ClickHouse, dbt, SQL, and Python
  • Work with customer success and sales teams to scope out and develop new product applications to create analytics solutions for clients
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and vision for the company’s next generation data product suite
  • Use relational and dimensional modeling techniques to create consistent, reusable and extendible representations of inventory, pricing, market share, and product data
  • Develop methods to detect, monitor, and alert on anomalies in data
  • Identify and communicate issues with data quality both up and downstream in the company affecting our product deliverables
  • Designing and implementing scripts to mine, discover and normalize extraction from terabytes of data
Experience
  • 3-7 years experience in similar roles
  • Intellectually curious and motivated by time series based datasets
  • Retail/supply chain/e-commerce/alternative data experience
  • Market intelligence experience
  • Startup experience
  • Scaled company infrastructure to 10Tb+ daily data ingestion
  • Hacker mentality
Hard skills
  • Experience with data pipelines using SQL, query optimization, and data warehousing (i.e. ClickHouse, postgres, MySQL, Redshift, Snowflake)
  • Proficient in dbt
  • Big data extraction experience
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI
  • Built end-to-end data products
  • Hybrid working from our NYC office Tuesday-Thursday and remotely Monday and Friday
Compensation 

The base salary average range for this role is $155-175,000 per year, depending on experience, skills, and alignment with the role’s responsibilities. Total compensation may also include equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
