LAB49 is hiring a Senior Android Developer, who will play a critical role in development projects for Lab49 clients. Working in a collaborative and innovative project team, with direct enterprise client-facing interactions, you will have an opportunity to apply your skills and expertise to design sophisticated applications that solve client challenges and enhance outcomes for them and their clients.   

 

You will be working on an Android application – a retirement income planning platform that helps advisors model pension accumulation and withdrawal strategies, optimize portfolio composition, and assess the sustainability of portfolios for different life scenarios. 

Key Responsibilities

    • Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform utilized in financial services
    • Work with team leadership, Product Owners, Designers, and other technologists to create software to be deployed in enterprise and public app stores based on business and technical priorities
    • Actively contribute to the adoption of robust software architecture, development and engineering best practices, and the adoption of new technologies
    • Break down complex problems into elegant technical solutions to intelligently solve problems for Lab49's clients
    • Utilize industry best practices to ensure code quality and robustness including edge cases, usability and general reliability
    • Advocate test-driven development and deliver high quality, resilient solutions
    • Resolve defects and enhance application performance by analyzing and optimizing code 

Experience/Skills Required

    • 10+ years of hands-on experience delivering and maintaining large-scale enterprise Android mobile applications. 
      • Expert-level experience building production Android applications using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and MVVM architecture. 
        • Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON 
          • Experience with third-party libraries and APIs 
            • Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends and emerging technologies 
              • Experience working in an Agile environment 
                • College degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent experience
