Program Description:

The Development Team works with donors, prospects, Foundation and Corporate funders, and government officials to raise unrestricted and restricted funding in support of Graham’s mission. 


The Development Team focuses on linking mission to action by attaining funding. Relationship building, superior communications, and deep collaboration are characteristics of the Team and how it effects change internally and externally as key connection agents for Graham.


Principal Objective/Role Overview:

The Annual Giving Specialist will drive revenue by developing and executing comprehensive, multi-channel fundraising campaigns. This role focuses on acquiring, engaging, and converting subscribers as well as renewing and upgrading donors through strategic direct mail, email marketing, digital platforms, and social media.

Job Responsibilities:

The Annual Giving Specialist designs and executes multi-channel fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, email, and social media, to acquire, retain, and upgrade donors. They foster relationships through digital and direct outreach and analyze performance metrics to optimize stewardship. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Channel Strategy: With the oversight of the Director of Individual Giving and Director of Communications, develop and execute full-cycle annual giving campaigns including direct mail appeals, email solicitation, and social media fundraising campaigns.
  • Content Creation: Connect with leadership teams and individual contributors across Graham to collect stories, photographs and other collateral for multi-channel campaigns. Craft on-brand messages for multi-channel activation.
  • Supporter Outreach: Manage Graham’s portfolio of email subscribers, conducting regular, segmented outreach to convert subscribers to donors, engage event attendees, and renew annual gifts.
  • Digital Engagement: Leverage social media platforms, creating on-brand content and sharing it to engage existing followers and acquire donors in support of Graham’s fundraising initiatives
  • Direct Mail & Content: Coordinate with vendors to produce targeted direct mail appeals, including writing appeal content and overseeing production.
  • Data Analysis: Use CRM data, email marketing platform, and social media insights to segment audiences, track campaign performance, and report on donor retention, engagement rates, and ROI. 
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues on the Development team to share ideas, best practices, and donor insights. Support fundraising and cultivation events as needed.

Key Competencies

  • Multi-channel marketing: Ability to timeline, craft, and develop analytics for cohesive messages across digital and traditional channels.
  • Fundraising: Understanding of the donor cultivation cycle and the most common strategies to acquire and retain annual donors.
  • Stewardship: Passion for donor engagement and relationship building.
  • Data Management: Proficiency in analyzing follower, subscriber, and donor trends and applying analysis to future efforts
  • Ability to collaborate and foster collaboration
Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, discipline non-specific
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar positions demonstrating multichannel activation
  • Raisers’ Edge experience + Blackbaud training preferred; Microsoft Office experience a plus
  • Constant Contact email marketing platform experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Graphic design experience and aptitude
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to self-direct work as well as collaborate with others
  • Must be willing to travel throughout NYC as needed
  • Energized by Graham’s mission

 

Salary & Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $80,000.00/ year
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
