Recruit and vet volunteers for Board-appointed and mid-term elected committees: publicize openings, interview candidates, check references, and communicate with committee chairs, the Board, and the Nominating Committee. Attend two in-person meetings and General Assembly as required. Serve a two-year term with possible renewals.
Purpose: The Appointments Committee recruits volunteers for UUA Board-appointed Committees -- and for elected committees when there is a mid-term vacancy.
Key responsibilities: Publicize committee openings (volunteers opportunities), interview volunteers, check references, communicate with committee chairs, communicate with Board, communicate with Nominating Committee.
Skills needed: communication skills. teamwork, follow-through, reliability, self directed, discretion
Length of Term: 2 years, with up to 3 renewals, for a total of 8 years.
Meetings: 2 in person -- others via zoom as needed; attendance at GA expected
Length of meetings: winter: 2 days. GA 1 day. others 1-2 hours
