Over the years, it has developed a diversified investment platform that includes hedge funds, co-investment vehicles, and committed, closed-end vehicles designed for longer-term holding periods. Today, Highbridge distinguishes itself as a credit, relative value, and volatility-focused franchise, with the flexibility to invest opportunistically across the capital structure and liquidity spectrum. Currently managing over $4 billion in capital, the firm strives to generate attractive risk-adjusted returns for a financially sophisticated clientele, including institutional investors, public and corporate pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices. Headquartered in New York, Highbridge also operates an office in London.
Highbridge Capital Management is seeking an Associate Data Engineer to join our team, reporting directly to the Head of Investment Technology. To support this growth, Highbridge is committed to streamlining its data capture processes while upholding the highest standards of data quality and integrity. The Associate Data Engineer will play a crucial role in driving these initiatives, enhancing our data capabilities and contributing to the overall success of our investment strategies.

    • Acquire in-depth knowledge of the data architecture within our Portfolio Accounting system to support data-driven decision-making
    • Work with proprietary and vendor data models to optimize data integration and utilization, aiming to enhance business performance and investment outcomes
  • Data Engineering and Analysis:
    • Collaborate with the investment team to identify data capture and analysis requirements for new investment initiatives
    • Manage and understand data relationships within our database environments to ensure data integrity
    • Create and implement reconciliation processes to proactively identify and resolve data discrepancies across systems
  • Documentation and Knowledge Transfer:
    • Document data requirements, standards, and workflows in the firm's internal knowledge repository, ensuring transparency and accessibility for all stakeholders
    • Provide timely communication regarding new data anomalies to ensure prompt resolution
  • Operational Support:
    • Troubleshoot T-1 data issues across reference data systems to maintain operational continuity.
    • Understand and manage Start-of-Day data dependencies across systems, focusing on investment and trading applications
  • Risk and Client Reporting Consistency:
    • Assist in maintaining data consistency across the firm's various sources to ensure accurate and reliable risk/investment and client reporting, addressing the challenges posed by the proliferation of data within the firm

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Experience: 3-5 years of data experience in the financial services industry
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: A strong commitment to precision and adherence to process is essential
