About the Position: The ideal candidate for the Assistant Account Executive position is a self-motivated, relationship-driven professional looking to grow within the specialty insurance industry. The Assistant Account Executive serves as a key point of contact between SPG's Account Executives, retail brokers, and carrier underwriters — managing the day-to-day dialogue and coordination that keeps accounts moving. Experience in the insurance industry is encouraged, but not a requirement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a direct liaison to retail brokers and carrier underwriters, managing ongoing communication on active accounts, renewals, and new submissions

  • Engage underwriters on coverage questions, endorsement requests, and binding instructions — advocating on behalf of clients and the AE

  • Respond to broker inquiries with timely, accurate information, escalating technical coverage discussions to the AE as appropriate

  • Coordinate with underwriters to track policy issuance, endorsements, and outstanding documentation, following up proactively to resolve open items

  • Support the AE in preparing renewal strategies, including gathering account data and communicating with underwriters on expiring terms

  • Maintain broker and underwriter relationships through consistent, professional, and knowledgeable interaction

  • Stay current on carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, and market changes to better serve the Account Executive

  • Perform other duties as directed by the Account Executive

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • High School diploma required; college coursework preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Proactive, independent work ethic with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Willingness to learn on the job and maintain a positive, flexible attitude

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and goal oriented

Work Location: This position is located in either our Melville, NY or New York, NY office and requires 3 days in the office.

Compensation: Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer comprehensive benefit and total compensation packages which could include health/dental/vision/life/disability insurance, FSA, HSA and 401(k) accounts, paid-time-off benefits, and eligible bonuses, equity and commissions for some positions.
