About The Role

We are seeking an Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of the firm's Management Company entities across various foreign jurisdictions. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will play a key role in accounting, financial reporting, and financial compliance for the region, working closely with the broader Finance team.

Management Company Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Own end-to-end statutory accounting for subsidiary entities, including month-end close.
  • Maintain and review general ledger, posting journal entries including inter-company transactions.
  • Manage cash reconciliation, accounts payable, expense allocations, accruals, account reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages for internal review. Ensure accurate reporting and consolidation into US parent entity.
  • Manage intercompany balances and transfer pricing.
  • Oversee external service providers responsible for statutory books, tax, and corporate secretarial matters, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Support the annual audit process and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors.
  • Facilitate banking relationships and new account openings where needed across various jurisdictions.
  • Oversee payroll review and employer compliance, including year-end reporting and other local employer obligations.

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Establish and build scalable processes and internal controls in line with company policies.
  • Document policies and drive automation, identify processes for improvement both locally and internationally in collaboration with peers.

Business Partnership

  • Partner closely with Controllers on month-end close, consolidation, and reporting activities at both the US entity and consolidated group level.
  • Partner closely with senior leadership and teams across the firm outside of finance.
Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA is required.
  • Up to 10 years of combined public and private experience within the financial services industry.
  • Prior experience in alternative investment management, hedge funds, asset management, or banking, particularly in organizations reporting into a U.S. parent company, is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS and practical working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102), with ability to report into US GAAP group requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a strong control mindset.
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating effectively with a global finance team.
  • Collaborative, hands-on team player who supports others when needed.
  • Champion best practices and continuous improvement, bringing a strong control mindset and a builder's mentality to every process.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving, and at times ambiguous environment while remaining goal-driven and focused on introducing structure, efficiencies, and a strong control framework.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct ERP preferred.

The base salary for this role is anticipated to be $150,000–$175,000, excluding potential bonuses, additional compensation, and benefits. Actual compensation will depend on various factors including skills, experience, and qualifications
