POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Director of Sales (ADOS) plays a critical leadership role in driving revenue performance at Radisson Hotel Corning. Reporting to the Director of Sales and working in close collaboration with the General Manager, the ADOS is responsible for prospecting and closing new business, managing day-to-day sales team operations, and executing strategies across all segments — including business transient, group, and catering. This is a hands-on, results-oriented role well-suited for a driven hospitality sales professional ready to take the next step in their career. Occasional regional travel is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Sales Leadership & Revenue Generation
- Prospect, develop, and close new business across corporate transient, group, race team, and catering segments to achieve room night and revenue targets.
- Maintain an active client base of corporate accounts, associations, and local organizations through consistent outside sales activity, including in-person calls, site tours, and networking.
- Ensure group account potential is identified, solicited, and contracted in a timely manner; monitor group room block performance against pace.
- Develop and track personal sales goals; report progress against weekly and monthly benchmarks.
- Collaborate with the Director of Sales and General Manager to develop, execute, and monitor public relations, advertising, and promotional strategies.
Team Management & Development
- Direct and support the day-to-day activities of the sales team, ensuring accountability to goals and adherence to department standards.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and develop sales team members; provide ongoing training, performance feedback, and recognition.
- Identify performance gaps and work collaboratively with team members to create and implement improvement plans.
- Foster a culture of high performance, teamwork, and exceptional customer service.
Strategy & Planning
- Contribute to the development of the annual sales plan and departmental operating budget in collaboration with hotel leadership.
- Create and implement short- and long-range sales strategies to optimize occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR across all segments.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and demand generators; adjust strategies accordingly.
- Identify operational issues affecting sales effectiveness and partner with relevant departments on solutions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressive hotel sales experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead capacity.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding individual and team sales goals in a hotel environment.
- Experience with Opera PMS, Delphi, or comparable CRS/PMS platforms strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook; familiarity with CRM tools a plus.
- Working knowledge of hotel sales segments including group, corporate transient, and catering.

- Skilled at resolving client and internal conflicts diplomatically and constructively.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Service-oriented mindset with a passion for creating exceptional experiences for both external guests and internal team members.
- Professional appearance and demeanor; brand ambassador for Radisson Hotel Corning and Core Hotels & Resorts.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires the ability to move throughout the property — indoors and outdoors — in various weather conditions. Occasional bending, kneeling, stair climbing, and light lifting may be required. Periodic regional travel is expected for client calls, trade shows, and brand-related events.
