Overview
The Hartford is seeking an Associate Agile Product Owner (APO) to join the Personal Insurance Innovation Value Stream, focusing on Data Product Strategy. This role will lead the development of data products that enable actionable insights and power advanced analytics across Personal Insurance. You will set priorities for one or more agile teams, represent the voice of the customer, and link execution to business vision—all while embedding a product operating model mindset. Ideal candidates are open-minded, collaborative and  innovative thinkers with a passion for data-driven decision-making and customer-centric solutions.

This position reports to an Agile Product Manager (APM) within the Personal Insurance Innovation Value Stream.

Responsibilities
•    Drive execution for data product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business and analytics strategies.
•    Collaborate with Data Science, Enterprise AI, and technology teams to define data product requirements.
•    Manage and prioritize the product backlog for data products, breaking down features into actionable stories.
•    Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria and validate solutions against the product vision.
•    Stay informed on data trends, governance practices, and emerging technologies.
•    Partner with Scrum Masters, Architects, and APMs to deliver high-quality data solutions.
•    Monitor delivery metrics and leverage insights for continuous improvement.
•    Promote data product thinking and product operating model principles across teams.
•    Ensure data domains are standardized, governed, and optimized for scalability and interoperability across Personal Insurance 

Qualifications
•    2+ years of experience in insurance, data analytics, or technology roles.
•    Knowledge of Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and lifecycle tools (Rally, JIRA).
•    Experience with data & analytics preferred.
•    Familiarity with data platforms, governance, and analytics tools.
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to influence and adapt messaging for different audiences.
•    Analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions.
•    Certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or SAFe POPM are a plus.

Work Arrangement: This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work arrangement. Candidates who live near one of our office locations (Hartford, CT, San Antonio, TX, Lake Mary, FL, Phoenix, AZ, Aurora, IL, New York, NY, and Danbury, CT) will have the expectation of working in an office three days a week (Tuesday through Thursday). Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work arrangement, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$84,640 - $126,960
