Job Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Associate Designer to join the design team. This role will assist in the creation and development of a competitive fashion product line that balances commercial relevance with brand-right fashion. The Associate Designer will support design development, production processes, and communication with factories to ensure the delivery of seasonal collections that align with brand objectives and financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Create sketches for development (hand and Illustrator). Complete all aspects of design packages, including sketching, tech packs, and maintaining line sheets. Research and develop innovative trims each season and source new fabrics. Prepare and maintain tech packs from initial development through bulk. Organize and maintain design development materials including artwork, trims, fabric worksheets, and line lists. Attend garment fittings and assist technical designers. Revise and update information in tech packs, communicating changes to factories. Submit and approve artwork, strike-offs, wash panels, and lab dips. Create CAD presentations for internal and external use with speed and accuracy.
  • Production and Overseas Communication: Create and maintain charts for overseas sample requests. Communicate daily with factories to support ongoing product development. Prepare samples for meetings and market presentations. Enter PLM data to create BOMs for production. Coordinate all domestic and overseas development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional design experience, required.
  • Experience working in a high SKU count environment.
  • Strong understanding of apparel styles, components, and construction.
  • Knowledge of apparel development timelines and calendars.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Skills and Behaviors:

  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Working knowledge of PLM, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills with critical attention to detail.
  • Confident and engaging communicator.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Independent worker with strong relationship-building skills across departments and vendors.

The pay range for this position is: $65,000 -- $75,000 per year.
