Corcept is leading the way in the research and development of cortisol modulators, molecules that regulate cortisol activity at the glucocorticoid receptor (GR). To date, we have discovered more than 1,000 selective proprietary cortisol modulators.

In 2012, we received FDA approval of Korlym® (mifepristone), the first approved treatment for hypercortisolism (Cushing’s syndrome).

Today, our team and collaborators continue to unlock the possibilities of cortisol modulation as a way to treat serious diseases. With more than 30 ongoing studies across a wide range of disease areas, including endocrinology, oncology, metabolism, and neurology, we remain dedicated to advancing the possibilities of cortisol modulation.

What began as a ripple of scientific truth is now poised to unleash a sea change of discovery representing a fundamental shift in the way we understand and treat disease.

The Associate Director, Market Access leads and managers a team of Field Reimbursement Managers (FRMs) in a defined geographic region (e.g., East or West). This role provides hands-on leadership, coaching, and oversight of all field reimbursement activities for Korlym. This role will ensure the team is operating effectively; meeting performance goals, removing strategic and operational barriers, optimizing workflow, and aligning with overall national field access strategies. The role also serves as the escalation point for complex access and reimbursement issues, working cross-functionally to drive alignment and efficiencies.

This role is both a leader and a doer: part strategist, part troubleshooter, part people developer, and a critical link between national strategy and field execution.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Management

  • Directly manage, mentor, and develop the FRMs in assigned region, providing regular coaching, performance feedback, and professional development
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new FRMs in assigned region; ensure they get ramped up rapidly
  • Develop and monitor regional metrics (e.g. enrollment volumes, turnaround times, PA and appeal success rates, pull-through) and hold FRMs accountable to targets
  • Oversee the regional FRM MBO / incentive compensation plan to ensure alignment with national goals and motivate top performance
  • Serve as the escalation point for issues that FRMs can’t resolve, particularly around complex payer denials, appeals, specialty pharmacy issues, or HUB handoffs
  • Conduct regular ride-alongs / field visits with FRMs to evaluate best practices, understand account dynamics, and identify coaching opportunities

Operational & Strategic Execution

  • Translate national field access strategy into actionable regional plans for your FRM team
  • Periodically evaluate territory alignments, resource allocation, and coverage gaps; recommend adjustments to optimize performance
  • Use data analytics and field feedback to identify regional access barriers, trends, and opportunities; propose and lead regional solutions or pilots
  • Lead regional team meetings, forums for shared learnings, and best-practice dissemination
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director / Director to shape national access initiatives and share insights from your region

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with Regional Sales Leadership to align account priorities, pull-through strategies, and access tactics
  • Coordinate with HUB leadership, Specialty Pharmacies, Market Access, Legal/Compliance, and Patient Services to ensure smooth operations and escalation pathways
  • Represent your region in cross-functional review meetings, bringing forth region-specific insights, challenges, and recommendations
  • Interface with internal functions (e.g. analytics marketing, training) to ensure FRMs have the tools, materials, and knowledge they need

Issue Resolution & Escalation Oversight

  • Monitor active cases across the region for escalations, bottlenecks, and risk of enrollment cancellation or therapy discontinuation
  • Lead or coordinate regional escalation reviews for high-risk patient cases or payer denials
  • Ensure best-practice approaches are documented and shared across teams

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Experience in rare disease, endocrinology, or high complexity access therapeutic areas
  • Prior experience managing teams of FRMs, Access Specialists, or analogous roles
  • Experience working in launch or post-launch access environments
  • Exposure to incentive compensation / MBO design oversight
  • Deep familiarity with U.S. payer/reimbursement landscape, HUB operations, specialty pharmacy models, appeals, prior authorization workflows, etc.
  • Proven ability to drive results through others, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and manage conflict
  • Strong analytics mindset, data-driven decision making, and ability to turn insights into action
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, PharmD) preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, healthcare, or reimbursement/access roles
  • At least 3+ years of direct leadership or management experience, ideally managing field teams (FRMs, access, patient services, or related roles)
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 60%) within region, with frequent field engagements

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position is $172,200 - $227,900; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
