We are looking for an experienced, strategic leader to join the Monetization Strategy team within the Business Strategy & Insights organization as an Associate Director. This team focuses on shaping Spotify’s global pricing, packaging, and monetization strategy, with a growing emphasis on identifying, incubating, and scaling new subscription and revenue opportunities.

In this role, you will play a key part in defining the future of Spotify’s Premium and emerging monetization businesses. You’ll lead complex strategic analyses, build end-to-end financial business cases for new offerings, and partner closely with senior stakeholders across Content, Product, Finance, Research, and Data. This is a high-impact role with visibility at the executive level and meaningful influence on Spotify’s long-term growth strategy.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the development of data-driven, scenario-based financial models to assess the impact of new business ideas and packaging strategies
  • Own strategic business cases for new monetization initiatives, from early concept through leadership recommendation and execution
  • Identify whitespace opportunities by combining consumer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform new offerings
  • Partner with Content, Product, Consumer Research, Data Science, and Finance to translate insights into clear, actionable strategies
  • Synthesize complex analyses into compelling narratives and author executive-ready presentations and briefing materials
  • Guide and review analytical work across projects, raising the bar on rigor, clarity, and strategic thinking
  • Support long-term monetization roadmaps by evaluating risks, tradeoffs, and growth opportunities across Spotify’s portfolio

Who You Are

  • You bring deep experience in strategy, corporate development, or financial analysis, ideally in consulting, investment banking, or a high-growth technology environment
  • You have a strong track record of managing high performing teams
  • You’re comfortable operating with ambiguity and enjoy shaping new ideas where the path forward isn’t fully defined
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, with experience presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • You’re a proactive, independent problem-solver who can balance big-picture thinking with analytical detail
  • You enjoy collaborating across disciplines and translating data into decisions
  • You have experience working with large datasets; familiarity with SQL or BigQuery is a plus
  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field that demonstrates strategic and analytical thinking

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in New York.
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.

The United States base range for this position is $191,274– $273,249, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
