PEOPLE Digital is hiring an Associate Director, Social Video. This role will lead creative strategies to drive video views, engagements and revenue across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and more. This person will work closely with the newsroom, video team, events, marketing/sales, PR and the rest of the social org. Strong news judgment, video editing and production skills, creative thinking and understanding of social media strategies and industry trends are essential. We're seeking someone who is able to generate viral wins for the brand and harness PEOPLE's loyal audience while attracting new followers. The Associate Director will manage a team of 5+ social video producers and editors working around the clock, across coasts. They should be a team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for entertainment, pop culture and using trends to suggest innovative opportunities for PEOPLE. They must feel comfortable coaching reporters on how to capture the best footage at events like red carpets and awards shows, as well as training social producers on best video practices. The ideal candidate is adept at watching raw footage and identifying what clips to cut and how to optimize for each social platform. Experience creating original, social-first video concepts and collaborating with celebrities and/or influencers are pluses. They will manage a pipeline of social-first pitches from reporters, writers and editors across the PEOPLE newsroom, seeing concepts through from ideation to execution. They should be stepped in internet culture as well as the news cycle.
Hybrid 3x a week in New York Office
This position is hybrid in-office, with the ability to work remotely for up to 2 days per week.

The social team creates, programs and analyzes the performance of PEOPLE content across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, X, Reddit and more.
About The Positions Contributions:
Weight % Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
30% - Manage strategy and deliver growth as well as analytics/insights for PEOPLE's social video accounts.
30% - Personnel management, staffing of live events, and coverage plans for tentpoles, exclusives along with breaking news situations
20% - Assign, review and approve social video drafts
10% - Collaborate with marketing and sales with execution of sold campaigns and opportunities for partnerships
10% - Brainstorm signature video franchises and concepts that help PEOPLE attract new followers and secure routine wins
The Role’s Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:
Education:
BA or BS and/or equivalent experience.
Experience:
3-5 years of working in an editor or producer capacity for digital media or social.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Certifications and Abilities:
Strong knowledge of entertainment, pop culture, and the PEOPLE brand
Expertise with generating revenue through social and social video
Experienced with building and presenting social analytics and reporting/insights
An idea generator who can think of new, fresh social and video ideas
Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, social media and video scripting
Must have experience creating and uploading TikTok videos and Instagram Reels
Must have a love for digital video and an eye on trends in the industry
Must be able to communicate effectively — verbally, in writing, and in person
Must work well with team members in a creative, collaborative, fast-paced environment
Must be highly organized with excellent follow-through
Staff management experience is required

Pay Range
Salary: New York: $87,000 - $104,000.00The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of People Inc's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
