About this role

The Finance & Strategy team partners with businesses and enterprise leaders across BlackRock to drive long-term, margin-accretive growth across the firm. The team sits at the intersection of Corporate Strategy & Development and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), blending strategy, finance and execution skillsets. We collaborate closely with leadership of our client and investment businesses to translate the enterprise-level vision and strategy into business-level execution plans, annual budgets, short- and long-term forecasts, insightful metrics and financial frameworks that drive business decisions.

This Associate-level position is a key member of the FP&A team partnering with the Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) business, a strategic growth priority area for BlackRock.  The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading special projects, developing senior-level presentations, performing data analysis and visualization, and building models to support strategic decision-making processes within the organization. Candidates should have proven quantitative and analytical skills, be able to multi-task and effectively manage priorities, clearly communicate results orally and in writing, and should be strong problem solvers.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of growth strategies, business plans, budgets and financial frameworks both on an enterprise and individual business level

  • Collaborate effectively with senior management and COO teams to translate strategies into actionable business goals, financial targets, execution plans, and investment needs aligned with long-term firm objectives

  • Function as a ‘quarterback’ between strategy and finance, ensuring alignment of business and financial goals through leadership in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes

  • Act as strategic and trusted advisor to business leaders by being a student of the markets and leveraging strategic and financial expertise, insights into the latest trends and competitive intelligence

  • Collect, analyze, and present financial data to support projects and business operations

  • Communicate strategic priorities and financial information cohesively to senior stakeholders through both written presentations and verbal communications

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify challenges and opportunities, delivering actionable insights that inform strategic decisions

Development Value:

  • The role offers unique exposure to global, regional, and business unit leadership at BlackRock

  • It provides a platform to build a professional brand and advance career development within a collaborative, inquisitive, and high-performing global Finance & Strategy team culture

  • Builds readiness for VP‑level FP&A, Strategy, or Finance leadership roles

Skills / Experience:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent with strong academic achievement; MBA a plus but not required

  • 3-6 years of relevant work experience in consulting, finance, banking, or similar fields, with a strong preference for asset management industry experience

  • Proficiency in financial processes including modelling, planning, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliation, reporting, and valuation

  • Proven ability to drive change through creativity, relationship building, and focused execution

  • A keen interest in markets and asset management innovation

  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance speed and quality in deliverables

  • Strong quantitative, problem-solving, organizational, and execution skills

  • Effective communication skills for presenting ideas clearly to senior management

  • Experience navigating complex stakeholder environments and working in cross-functional teams

  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with IBM Planning Analytics and Microsoft PowerBI is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and automation to drive efficiency gains, streamline workflows, and reimagine core business processes—reducing manual effort, cycle times, and operational risk
