Financial Reporting Associate

The Associate, Financial Reporting role will support the Financial Reporting team in the preparation and delivery of high‑quality financial reporting across US GAAP, JGAAP, US Statutory, and Bermuda regulatory frameworks. The role is focused on supporting financial statement preparation, consolidation activities, analytical review, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reporting deliverables. The position will assist with quarterly and annual financial statements and regulatory filings, prepare flux and variance analysis, support management and Board reporting, and execute assigned internal control activities in accordance with J‑SOX and other governance requirements. The role will work closely with senior reporting team members and cross‑functional partners to support reporting accuracy, documentation quality, and audit readiness.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in a structured, deadline‑driven reporting environment, while developing technical accounting and financial reporting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual US GAAP, JGAAP, US Statutory, and Bermuda financial statements, including supporting schedules and disclosures
  • Support the Group consolidation process, including preparation of intercompany schedules and consolidation support workpapers
  • Prepare quarterly flux and variance analysis and supporting commentary for review by senior team members
  • Assist in the preparation of management reporting and analytics to support internal decision‑making
  • Support the preparation and submission of regulatory filings and returns in accordance with Bermuda requirements
  • Execute assigned internal control activities and assist with documentation in support of J‑SOX compliance
  • Prepare and maintain financial reporting workpapers and documentation to support financial statements, disclosures, and audit requirements
  • Respond to internal and external audit requests, including gathering documentation and tracking request status
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams (Actuarial, Treasury, FP&A) to support reporting accuracy and completeness under senior guidance
  • Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of supporting materials and memos as needed
  • Support the preparation of Board and Audit Committee materials, including schedules and analytical support
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to reporting processes, documentation quality, and controls execution

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Life insurance or reinsurance industry experience, preferred
  • Working towards a Professional accounting designation (CPA or Bermuda equivalent)

Additional experience:

  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP; exposure to US Statutory and/or Bermuda regulatory reporting highly desirable
  • Experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and analytics within a multi-entity environment
  • Familiarity with internal controls frameworks and J-SOX compliance
  • Experience working in a multi-GAAP, multi-currency reporting environment preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on financial statement accuracy and insight generation
  • High attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven reporting environment
  • Effective communicator with the ability to present financial information clearly to stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple reporting deliverables concurrently

Location: West Chester, PA; New York, NY (Hybrid - 2-3 days per week in the office),

These estimates consider a wide range of factors in making base salary decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.

In addition to salary, Resolution Life US offers a comprehensive benefits package, including our health & wellness program, incentive and recognition programs, and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The range for the role may differ based on the location.

  • West Chester- $80,000-$100,000

  • New York-$91,000 - $110,000
