BlackRock’s Index Equity Business manages $7.25 trillion in global index equity assets across US Equities, Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, Commodities and REITs.

The Index Equity Business is also responsible for approximately $3.24 trillion in Index Equity products in Institutional Index Business that are non-iShares vehicles (pooled funds, separately managed accounts, and mutual funds) resulting in the ability to offer investors the industry's broadest array of investment choices. Our clients include corporate pension plans, public pension plans, central banks, sovereign wealth funds, foundations & endowments, and other institutional investors.

Position Overview

As a strategist for the Americas Index Equity Strategy team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Institutional Index business’ growth in the Americas. They will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients and delivering the best of Index Equity and BlackRock. The team coordinates closely with other BlackRock investment and distribution teams to deliver integrated solutions to meet each institutional client’s unique needs.

The responsibilities of the Strategy team span across product development, research, client service, product positioning, reporting, and education across Index Equity’s full offerings including commingled funds, separate accounts, mutual funds, and iShares. This individual will support domestic, international, and real estate equities, commodities, factors, and sustainable strategies across both Institutional and iShares channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing service and support to Index Equity global clients and prospects. This will include responding to day-to-day client requests, pricing new business, completing RFPs/RFIs and other questionnaires, and assisting with the maintenance of business metrics.
  • Build and maintain product marketing materials, client presentations, and customized analyses that articulate strategy objectives, characteristics, performance, and relevant competitive advantages.
  • Advise clients on all aspects of portfolio strategy including portfolio management, trading, transitions, and securities lending. Articulate competitive advantages to clients.
  • Assist in the development of new product ideas.
  • Form relationships with various BlackRock groups to support the Index Equity business including other teams of product specialists, distribution channels, and operational teams as needed.
  • Work closely with business leaders within Index Equity and across BlackRock to identify commercial opportunities and deliver the full power of BlackRock to our clients.
  • Build and maintain consultative relationships with large pension, foundation, and endowment clients and prospects.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, similar field, or relevant experience. CFA or progress towards a CFA recommended.
  • 4+ years’ experience at a top financial institution, preferably within a large, integrated investment management firm in a client facing capacity.
  • Demonstrated success in client service and an aptitude for business development in an institutional setting.
  • The ability to build, grow and maintain strong relationships with diverse sets of internal and external clients.
  • Ability to navigate, collaborate, and leverage resources within a large, complex financial services organization.
  • Ability to influence and lead effectively across regions, functions, and teams without direct authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a requirement.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills required (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • A strong understanding of Portfolio Management and Trading a plus.
  • Role will require candidate to obtain regulatory licenses Series 7 and 63.
For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$110,000.00 - USD$150,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
