A Career with Point72’s Private Investment Valuation team

The Point72 Private Investment Valuation team manages the valuation of all privately held investments across the Firm’s extensive hedge fund, private equity, private credit, and venture capital portfolios. The team’s investment valuation coverage varies across industries and capital structures.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the development of Point72’s valuation process of private credit portfolios; research technical valuation matters and provide thought leadership on best practices and emerging trends
  • Coordinate with deal teams to lead valuation reviews of diverse private credit assets by building and maintaining valuation models in accordance with ASC Topic 820, and present analysis and fair value recommendations to the Valuation Committees
  • Coordinate valuation reviews performed by third-party valuation firms and external auditors
  • Review and coordinate valuation and P&L reporting for internal performance tracking and investor reporting

What’s required

  • 2-5 years of private credit valuation experience at a valuation advisory firm, “Big 4” audit firm, or private credit asset management firm
  • Experience with the valuation of private credit investment types, including Asset-Based Lending (ABL), Collateralized Loan Obligation (CLO), Asset-Backed Securities (ABS), and Significant Risk Transfer (SRT)
  • Interest in broadening your valuation expertise to private equity and venture capital
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Strong excel modeling skills
  • Proficient in Intex
  • Strong personal ownership, highly analytical, detail-oriented, and a commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work with varying deadlines, as well as address ad-hoc inquiries and projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to work effectively on a team
  • Commitment to the highest ethical standards

The annual base salary range for this role is $115,000-$155,000 (USD) , which does not include discretionary bonus compensation or our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
