The ideal candidate is a strong writer with solid editorial judgment, a passion for breaking news, and a desire to grow into a well-rounded television producer. You thrive under deadline pressure, think beyond your assigned tasks, and are eager to contribute ideas that elevate both our broadcasts and our digital presence. This role offers the opportunity to develop skills across multiple areas of live television production while working alongside experienced producers, writers, bookers, and newsroom leaders.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Write conversational scripts, teases, guest tosses, and banners under tight deadlines
Manage reporter live shots and guest segments
Coordinate video, graphics, and other production elements to support live broadcasts
Research developing stories and assist producers with editorial planning and segment development
Monitor breaking news, live events, and press conferences while communicating important updates
Help manage the show's social media presence by creating posts, clipping video, writing copy, and identifying opportunities to engage audiences beyond the live broadcast.
Continuously build knowledge of television production, newsroom technology, and editorial decision-making while taking on additional responsibilities
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Experience in a television newsroom, digital newsroom, or comparable live news environment
Exceptional writing skills, impeccable grammar, and strong editorial judgment
Strong knowledge of politics, current events, and the national news landscape
Ability to thrive under pressure and adapt quickly in a fast-paced breaking news environment
Collaborative mindset with outstanding communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and a desire to develop new editorial and production skills
Strong understanding of social media platforms and the ability to recognize content with digital and cross-platform potential
Interest in emerging technologies, AI tools, and innovative newsroom workflows
Working knowledge of iNews, Dalet, VIZ, desktop editing systems, or similar newsroom tools preferred

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $60,000.00-75,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents.
