The Associate Producer will support the ideation, production, and distribution of market-related content for podcasts and social media, focusing on engaging storytelling and collaboration with multifunctional teams.
OVERVIEW
Morning Brew is looking for a contract Markets Associate Producer to work across Morning Brew’s markets and investing franchises Brew Markets and After Earnings. Ideal candidates should have experience in production support, writing, and editing live/as-live content for podcasting, social platforms and YouTube. In this role, you will assist the Markets production team for both franchises, while also producing highly engaging content in The Brew’s signature mix of fun and informative.
This role will be up to 40 hours/week.
Duties will be diverse and wide ranging, from day-to-day pre-production tasks (including pitching fresh and unexpected content, researching and preparing topics and interviews), as well as post-production tasks (including producing social content and executing publishing of content across platforms).
You’re considered a rockstar candidate if you’re a multiskilled media professional who also loves the markets, can work in a fast-paced environment, can collaborate across multifunctional teams, and proactively work on improving systems and maintaining excellent quality.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Support the ideation, production, post production, and distribution of Brew Markets and After Earnings content.
- Work with producers and talent on research needs, topic ideas, story/show structure, and delivery.
- Support the creative and development process
- Work with and assisting the booking team for all guest prep & execution
- Coordinate with the broader Morning Brew teams to keep them informed of projects and look for areas of collaboration.
- Work with social teams to grow a robust and engaged audience across platforms.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- You’re enthusiastic about (and have strong knowledge of) business, markets, the economy, and investing.
- You hold strong research and writing skills; you could whip up a 30-second primer on the impact of BOJ’s rate hike, while also being excited to dive deep into the logistics of growing a fast casual restaurant chain.
- You have Control Room experience and know how to support a live/live-to-tape show
- You’re experienced with Adobe Premiere and Pro Tools (being familiar with Photoshop is a plus!); you know what makes content engaging and punchy
- You understand the major social platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X, formerly Twitter)—you know what will make a splash and resonate with each audience
- You have outstanding communication, collaboration and organizational skills—and an impeccable eye for detail and creative opportunities
- You can work on a deadline, and tasks rarely, if ever, fall through the cracks
- You have a minimum 2-4 years experience in media and podcast production, with live experience; you know best practices in and out
- You watch YouTube, you watch social videos, you’re not just a subject matter and technical fit, you love the ecosystems within which we create for.
