You're a natural connector who cares deeply about matching great people to roles where they'll thrive at Generate. You build genuine relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and colleagues across the organization, and you take pride in making every interaction feel thoughtful and well run. You're highly organized and can juggle multiple searches and projects at once without dropping details. You're eager to learn how a high-performing talent function works, from sourcing and selection through growth and development. You bring curiosity, accountability, and a genuine connection to our mission: proving that sustainability pays better than unsustainability.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as an Associate, Talent:

Talent Acquisition and Candidate Experience

  • Own full-cycle recruiting for a portfolio of roles across the company: intake meetings with hiring managers, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer support.

  • Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, networking groups, industry communities, referrals, and other creative channels, with a focus on both caliber and values alignment.

  • Develop deep knowledge of the markets Generate operates in, including sustainable infrastructure, energy & power, climate finance, and adjacent sectors.

  • Build and maintain proactive talent networks and market maps by sector and by function, and track talent moves, industry trends, and relevant news to help identify top prospects so we're ready to move quickly when hiring needs arise.

  • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience. Communicate promptly and clearly, prepare candidates for their conversations with hiring managers, and close the loop with thoughtful feedback.

  • Draft job descriptions, post roles across the right channels, and partner with our Talent team coordinator on interview logistics to keep hiring teams aligned on process, timelines, and evaluation criteria.

  • Maintain accurate data in our ATS, and help build and update recruiting metrics and dashboards that give leaders visibility into hiring progress.

  • Identify ways to simplify, streamline, or automate parts of the recruiting process, including using AI tools for sourcing, candidate outreach, interview scheduling, and reporting, and help put those improvements in place.

  • Support offer preparation by collaborating with Total Rewards.

  • Support our internship program end to end, from recruiting and selection to onboarding, program coordination, and intern experience.

Talent Development and Organizational Effectiveness

  • Option to be engaged on the execution of our performance management programs, including quarterly growth/impact/goal conversations, feedback cycles, and talent review and calibration. This work covers logistics, communications, materials, and follow-through.

  • Option to be engaged on the design and deliver learning and development programs, including manager and leadership development sessions, onboarding experiences, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

  • Support org design projects, such as building and maintaining org charts, analyzing spans and layers, benchmarking team structures against peer firms, mapping roles and responsibilities as teams grow or reorganize, and supporting workforce planning analysis to identify future hiring needs.

  • Help make sure a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens is built into our processes and programs.

  • Keep getting better: bring new ideas and have fun testing better ways to do all of the above.

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:

  • 2-4+ years of experience in talent acquisition, recruiting, HR, or a related people function.

  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle recruiting, ideally in a fast-growing company, investment firm, or professional services environment.

  • Strong sourcing skills, and comfort finding candidates beyond inbound applicants.

  • Genuine curiosity about the markets we invest in, and experience (or strong interest) in building talent maps, pipeline research, or market intelligence.

  • A passion for our mission and for helping people grow in their careers.

  • Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills, with high attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including empathy, active listening, and the ability to build trust with candidates and colleagues at all levels.

  • Analytical mindset and comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and recruiting metrics. ATS experience (e.g., Ashby) is a plus.

  • Comfort with AI tools and an interest in applying them to make people processes faster and smarter.

  • Interest in or exposure to learning and development, performance management, org design, or employee engagement programs.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee and candidate information with discretion.

  • Self-awareness, humility, and a growth mindset, including openness to feedback and excitement about new challenges.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit: flexibility, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
