About Norm Law

Norm Law is the premier AI-native law firm, built for global institutions.

Powered by Norm Ai, we combine elite legal talent with purpose-built AI agents to deliver faster, more precise, and more reliable legal services.

This Role

As a Tax Associate at Norm Law, you will support a 360-degree funds tax practice representing marquee managers across private equity, real estate, venture, and hedge. You'll work on the full arc of fund work — entity structuring, fund formation, manager advisory, and portfolio transactions — while using AI agents to handle the research and drafting that used to consume billable hours. The result: more time on the hard problems, less time on the process around them.

Our practice embraces the use of AI to reduce burden and increase your ability to focus on strategic legal judgment and client engagement.

What You'll Do
  • Document Drafting & Review: Leverage AI agents to generate, compare, and redline fund formation documents, LPAs, subscription agreements, side letters, and tax opinion memoranda.

  • Due Diligence: Use AI tools to conduct rapid document reviews, identify key terms and tax provisions, and generate client-facing memos analyzing complex fund structures and investor tax considerations.

  • Fund Structuring & Execution: Integrate AI agents into workflow management across the full fund lifecycle — entity structuring, UBTI/ECI analysis, tax-exempt and non-U.S. investor vehicles, and portfolio transactions.

  • Client Advisory: Partner with clients to demonstrate how AI-assisted workflows improve accuracy, transparency, and deal velocity.

  • Collaboration with Tech: Work closely with the technology teams to continue to make the fund tax practice even more efficient using AI.

What We're Looking ForCore Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor (JD); active bar admission in New York.

  • 3–5 years of tax experience at a top law firm, with meaningful exposure to private investment funds (private equity, venture, and/or hedge).

  • Strong technical foundation in partnership tax; familiarity with UBTI, ECI, and fund structuring for diverse investor bases.

  • Interest in building AI-assisted workflows.

What success looks like
  • 30 Days: Learn firm AI platforms; begin supporting deal teams using AI-enabled review and drafting.

  • 60 Days: Independently manage discrete components of deals with AI support.

  • 90 Days: Lead AI-augmented workstreams in live transactions, improving efficiency and accuracy in document management and closing processes.
