What you’ll do in the role:

Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC seeks an Associate, Trading in New York, NY to price and structure margin loans and derivatives transactions for corporate and wealth clients. Collaborate with members of the Global Capital Markets and IED derivatives teams on idea generation and structuring of client requests. Conduct research on stocks and companies in order to evaluate risks and make trading decisions. Daily risk management and hedging of the trading books, including close interaction with other traders and brokers. Drive forward new technology and infrastructure projects with IT and desk strategists.

What you’ll bring to the role:

-Requires a Bachelor’s in Economics, Finance, or a related field

-Requires four (4) years of experience in the position offered or four (4) years as an Analyst, or a related occupation

-Requires four (4) years of experience with the following skills:

  • Creation, pricing and pitching vanilla and exotic equity derivative and margin lending transactions for corporate clients and sponsors;
  • Negotiating legal documents utilizing ISDA format and definitions;
  • Conducting research on stocks / companies in order to evaluate risks and make decisions;
  • Understanding complex payoffs and structuring novel hedging and monetization strategies for public and private equities;
  • leading transaction execution and development of new technology and infrastructure projects with internal IT functions;
  • Microsoft Office product suite, including:
    • Excel,
    • Word,
    • Outlook; and
  • Bloomberg.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $225,000 and $225,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
