Ensure stability of trading platforms by monitoring and resolving platform failures and trade disruptions, communicating with clients, troubleshooting logs and FIX issues, managing scheduled jobs (Autosys/Cron), configuring alerting, performing upgrades and health checks, automating processes, collaborating with development, and adhering to ITSM incident/problem/change processes.
The AVP, Application Support will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and stability of our trading platforms. You will be part of a global team, working closely with internal and external clients to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues. Your expertise in application support, combined with strong communication skills, will be key to the success of this role.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to technical platform failures and trade disruptions.
- Manage client communication, providing timely updates and clear expectations.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, analyzing log files, FIX logs, and environmental factors.
- Support scheduled jobs, monitor and configure using Autosys and Cron.
- Configure environmental alerting systems for servers and application components.
- Perform software upgrades and post-release health checks.
- Build tools, automate processes, and optimize application performance.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement new features and enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with IT Service Management processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
- Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in application support.
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems is a must.
- Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Unix Shell, Perl) for automation and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of external connectivity and basic networking concepts is preferred.
- Familiarity with Equities, Fixed Income, or Foreign Exchange trading is an advantage.
- Experience with Source Code Repositories (Git, Perforce) and Software Release tools is desirable.
- Basic understanding of DB/SQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with JIRA Service Desk or similar issue tracking systems is beneficial.
- Server administration skills and knowledge of FIX protocol are advantageous.
