About the role

The AVP of Corporate Development and Strategy will play a key role in shaping Tidal’s long-term growth and competitive position. Sitting within the Office of the CEO, this role will split time between corporate development (M&A, partnerships, and competitive intelligence) and enterprise corporate strategy.

You’ll work directly with the CEO, CFO, and other senior Tidal executives, and report to the VP of Strategy. The ideal candidate combines sharp analytical and financial acumen with a strategic mindset and bias toward execution. You will evaluate acquisition and partnership opportunities, support due diligence efforts, and help drive strategic initiatives that position Tidal for its next stage of growth.

This is a high-visibility role for an intellectually curious, self-driven professional who wants to operate at the intersection of finance, strategy, and execution within one of the fastest-growing firms in the ETF ecosystem.

What you'll do

  • Analyze the Competitive Landscape: Conduct ongoing competitor tracking, market mapping, and trend analysis to inform Tidal’s strategic priorities.
  • Support M&A and Partnerships: Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and executing potential acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures. Participate in due diligence, modeling, and integration planning.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the Tidal C-Suite on high-priority strategic projects and board-level deliverables.
  • Drive Organic Growth Initiatives: Support cross-functional efforts to identify, prioritize, and operationalize new growth opportunities across Tidal’s platform.
  • Develop Strategic Insights: Translate data, research, and financial analysis into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Build Frameworks and Tools: Develop models, scorecards, and dashboards to track key performance metrics and monitor strategic progress.
  • Inform Long-Term Planning: Contribute to annual and multi-year strategic planning, scenario modeling, and market positioning exercises.
  • Enhance Internal Alignment: Work across teams (finance, product, business development, marketing) to ensure strategic consistency and communication across initiatives.

Qualifications

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate development, or strategy roles—preferably within financial services or asset management.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort with financial modeling; comfortable interpreting financial statements and building valuation frameworks.
  • Experience supporting M&A due diligence, partnership evaluations, or strategic planning processes.
  • Excellent research and synthesis abilities; able to distill complex market data into actionable insights.
  • Clear communicator who can work cross-functionally and present to C-Level leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Genuine interest in ETFs, asset management, and the evolution of investment platforms.

We are prioritizing candidates who are located within proximity to Chicago, IL and New York City, NY.
