About the Role:
Everest is seeking a high-impact AVP, Strategic Initiatives to help shape and accelerate the future of our Casualty business. In this highly visible role, you will partner with senior leadership to drive transformational initiatives, optimize operations, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance performance across the portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and operations, influencing enterprise priorities and delivering measurable results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
This is a hybrid position in either Warren, NJ or New York City working 3 days in office, 2 remote.
Who You Are:
You are a professional who has successfully led complex, strategic business programs in the P&C industry. You are passionate about execution and solving challenging problems. You are collaborative and able to work with all types of people from front line staff to highly technical experts. You value direct communication and view it as critical to identifying issues and mitigating risks. You have a strong knowledge of project management methodologies but also know how to “right-size” them to fit a specific program/project. You lead by example when challenges are encountered by remaining level-headed and keeping teams focused on solutions.
What You’ll Do:
Lead transformation efforts: Evaluate and redesign operational processes and organizational models to unlock efficiency and scalability.
Execute strategic priorities: Drive and deliver key initiatives across the Casualty portfolio, translating strategy into clear, actionable roadmaps.
Own complex programs: Lead large-scale, cross-functional initiatives—including technology implementations—across underwriting, product, actuarial, finance, operations, and IT.
Deliver measurable impact: Manage initiatives end-to-end, ensuring on-time, on-budget execution with strong governance, transparency, and accountability.
Harness data to drive decisions: Use analytics and KPIs to track performance, inform decision-making, and communicate progress to executive stakeholders.
Advance innovation and AI adoption: Partner with AI Engineering and Technology teams to identify and scale high-value use cases across Casualty.
What You’ll Need:
An engineering mindset with an ability to solve business problems through thoughtful process improvements and system designs
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build trust and influence cross-functional teams and leaders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills tailored for a fast-paced environment.
A strong commitment to meeting deadlines, delivering high-quality work products, and honoring commitments, even when encountering obstacles
Insurance subject matter acumen; Casualty expertise preferred
7+ years of financial services consulting, operations, or analytics experience, or equivalent, required.
Bachelor's degree
The base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $220,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location. All offers include access to a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, 401k match, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
