Your role will be to support the development and execution of Business Development (BD) strategies that drive growth for the U.S. Capital Markets practice, ensuring alignment with the firm and Clients and Sectors strategies. You will identify opportunities using strong Capital Markets insights and data-led intelligence, drive cross-selling, execute client-centric BD activities, strengthen client and internal stakeholder relationships, and inform the overall BD strategy to drive profitable revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive growth across Capital Markets by drafting and supporting BD plan development and implementation.
  • Help to ensure Capital Markets and client targeting strategies align with global BD growth objectives and broader firm strategy.
  • Develop a strong network across global BD teams and the Business Development & Marketing (BDM) function to keep the local office connected to the global network and strategy, driving interconnectivity across these teams.
  • Develop and execute focused Capital Markets and client growth plans, facilitating cross-selling opportunities with wider global practice teams.
  • Provide timely, high-quality input into win strategies and market-leading pitch and panel submissions for Capital Markets matters.
  • Drive relationships with Client & Sector BD teams to foster growth in relation to priority sectors and market opportunities, and create compelling, Capital Markets-led go-to-market campaigns to engage target clients.
  • Drive and leverage data-led insights for horizon scanning, opportunity spotting, and pipeline management for Capital Markets.
  • Gather and analyze market information and client feedback (both with support from and in support of Client & Sector BD) and monitor external trends to inform Capital Markets BD strategies, and monitor practice trackers to generate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Leverage technology, tools and data infrastructure to ensure proactive, targeted, and fit-for-purpose Capital Markets-oriented insights.
  • Ensure alignment with global processes and maximize the use of global resources and tools, including shared services.

Experience

  • Experience in business development within legal services, specifically in Capital Markets or similar practice areas.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement BD strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Track record of identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities in professional services.
  • Experience working across global teams and driving interconnectivity between offices.
  • Knowledge of utilizing global resources and tools to enhance BD effectiveness.
  • Experience providing strategic input for pitches and panel submissions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with sector teams to drive cross-selling opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience leveraging data insights for BD activities.
  • Experience gathering market intelligence and monitoring industry trends.
  • Proficiency in using technology and data tools to generate actionable BD insights.

The base salary range offered for this role will be between $180,000 and $200,000 and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant experience, performance, qualifications, degrees and location, as well as the needs of the firm. The total compensation package for this position may include overtime pay, discretionary bonuses and other benefits.
