Billing Lead - Finance

About the role

Entrupy is seeking a Billing Lead – Finance to own and oversee our end-to-end billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability as the business grows.
This role requires collaborating with other departments to streamline billing procedures and enhance overall financial efficiency, sits at the intersection of Finance, Engineering, Product, and Customer Operations, and is critical to maintaining revenue integrity and a seamless customer billing experience.

You will be responsible for managing billing processes, supporting complex billing models, improving controls, and leading billing-related initiatives across systems and teams.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end billing operations, including invoicing, adjustments, credits, refunds, and revenue alignment.
• Ensure accurate and timely billing across subscription, usage-based, and one-time revenue models
• Partner closely with Engineering and Product on billing system enhancements and new feature launches
• Act as a finance administrator for billing platforms and payment gateways (e.g., Chargebee, Stripe)
• Establish and maintain billing controls, reconciliation processes, and audit readiness
• Monitor billing accuracy, resolve discrepancies, and drive root-cause analysis
• Support month-end close activities related to billing and revenue
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (SOX, PCI, tax/VAT/GST, revenue recognition)
• Create and maintain billing documentation, workflows, and SOPs
• Lead and mentor billing analysts or operations team members (as applicable)
  

What you bring

• 8+ years of experience in Billing, Revenue Operations, or Finance Operations
• Strong understanding of subscription and usage-based billing models
• Hands-on experience with billing systems (Stripe, Xero, Chargebee, Zuora, NetSuite, etc.)
• Google Suite and Microsoft Excel skills (required)
• SaaS company experience (preferred)
• Hubspot/Salesforce/CRM experience preferred
• Solid knowledge of revenue recognition principles and financial controls
• Proven experience partnering with engineering and technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Well organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize to meet deadlines
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter with ability to take ownership and ensure tasks are completed on time
• Team player with the ability to bring people together and along
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
