Billing QA Engineer - Temporary Position

Nayax is looking for a Temporary Billing QA Engineer (Maternity leave replacement) to join our Billing team. You'll work in a dynamic environment testing our billing systems and ensuring accurate, reliable payment processing and invoicing workflows that are critical to our business operations and customer satisfaction.

The Billing QA Engineer will report to the Billing, Mobile & Web QA Team Leader. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Test billing systems, payment workflows, invoicing processes, and financial transactions across multiple scenarios and edge cases. 
• Plan, design, and execute manual test cases for new billing features and regression cycles. 
• Write and execute complex MySQL queries to validate data integrity, investigate discrepancies, and verify billing calculations. 
• Validate UI/UX, data accuracy, calculations, payment gateway integrations, and error handling in billing flows. 
• Perform functional, exploratory, integration, smoke, and regression testing on billing-related features. 
• Work closely with developers, product managers, finance teams, and support to ensure high-quality releases. 
• Identify, document, and track defects using our internal tools, providing clear reproduction steps, logs, SQL queries, and screenshots. 
• Collaborate with automation teams and provide insights on repetitive scenarios suitable for automation. 
• Participate in release validation, version sign-off, and build sanity testing. 
• Suggest improvements to the testing process, development flow, and quality standards. 

• 3+ years of experience in UI manual testing of web-based applications. 
• Experience writing structured test cases, test plans, and documenting functional flows using Xray (or zephyr) and Jira products. 
• High proficiency in MySQL query creation - Ability to write complex queries for data validation, investigation, and testing purposes. 
• Self-management, ownership, initiative, and the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment. 
• Ability to investigate issues independently, analyze logs, and perform root-cause-oriented investigation. 
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English. 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with AI tools on everyday tasks  
• Experience with QA testing in billing systems, payment platforms, or financial applications. 
• Familiarity with payment gateways, invoicing systems, or subscription management platforms. 
• Basic knowledge of APIs and ability to perform API testing using Postman or similar tools. 
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial workflows. 
• Experience with test management tools and bug tracking systems.
