BlackRock's Manager Research team is looking for an Associate to join our Equities Manager Research team in New York.

BlackRock Manager Research (“BMR”) is a global research investment team responsible for selecting top-tier investment strategies across public and private asset classes for our global client portfolios. BMR generates alpha through disciplined and rigorous manager research, selection and monitoring, with dedicated investment professionals across three specialized pillars: Investment Due Diligence (“IDD”), Operational Due Diligence (“ODD”) and Quantitative Due Diligence (“QDD”). Our team meticulously analyzes data and strategies to ensure our clients’ investments thrive.

Your Role:

As an Associate on our Investment Due Diligence team in New York, you will play a meaningful role in identifying top equity-focused investment managers, evaluating their strategies, and monitoring their performance to help our clients achieve their investment goals.  This role is ideal for someone with a strong drive for success and a deep passion for and background in equity investing. What You'll Do:

  • Identify, assess, and oversee a range of equities-oriented strategies employed by long-only and hedge fund managers

  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of strategies under review

  • Lead investment due diligence processes, including onsite visits, detailed quantitative and qualitative analysis, and the presentation of investment recommendations

  • Coordinate diligence efforts internally across various functional teams

  • Identify and communicate emerging risks or potential opportunities associated with investments

  • Initiate and build relationships with investment teams and industry experts both within and outside of BlackRock to facilitate knowledge transfer and aid decision-making

  • Communicate domain expertise to sophisticated clients and BlackRock portfolio managers

What you Offer:

  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering preferred, but not required

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail

  • A proactive self-starter with a strong sense of intellectual curiosity, eager to explore new challenges and drive continuous improvement

  • Exhibit a strong sense of emotional ownership towards clients and stakeholders by maintaining high levels of responsiveness and accountability

  • Strong communication skills, with the right level of confidence and assertiveness, to present and promote ideas at all levels of the organization

  • Outstanding academic credentials

  • CFA certification or desire to complete the program

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$116,000.00 - USD$155,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
