Deliver afterschool career-exploration and job-readiness lessons, guide students in resume and interview prep, coordinate employer visits and job-shadowing, supervise off-site activities, build relationships with students/families, track attendance and progress, and support program evaluation to ensure inclusive, work-based learning experiences.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Facilitates hands-on, engaging activities that expose students to various industries, workplace expectations, and essential employability skills.
- Provides youth development, community connection, and equitable access to work-based learning experiences.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITES
- Facilitate engaging afterschool lessons and workshops focused on career exploration, job readiness, and soft skills.
- Support students in developing resumes, completing job/internship applications, and preparing for interviews.
- Guide students through project-based learning activities that simulate workplace experiences.
- Assist in coordinating guest speakers, employer site visits, career fairs, and job-shadowing opportunities.
- Help prepare students for participation in real-world experiences by teaching workplace etiquette, safety, and professionalism.
- Accompany and supervise students during off-site activities as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between students, families, and community partners to promote participation and understanding of work-based learning opportunities.
- Build positive relationships with students and families to support career development goals.
- Track attendance, participation, and student progress in collaboration with the site team.
- Support the collection of feedback and evaluation data from students and employers.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment aligned with program goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong classroom or group facilitation skills with youth.
- Ability to relate to and motivate diverse student populations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Organizational skills for tracking participation and preparing materials.
- Cultural competency and commitment to equity in education and career access.
- Experience working with youth and demonstrated ability to be inclusive and non-stigmatizing in their role.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with middle or high school youth in afterschool, school, or community settings.
- Familiarity with youth workforce development, career readiness, or vocational education is a plus.
