The Role

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Art Director to join our innovative Brand Consulting sports sponsorship creative team. This is a senior creative author position where you'll be instrumental in developing and executing visually compelling and impactful creative strategies for our sports-focused marketing and experiential initiatives. The ideal candidate is a creative visionary with a passion for sports, live events, and design, capable of translating marketing objectives into stunning campaigns that resonate with a global audience.

This role requires a leader who can take command of the creative process, guide and mentor a team to elevated success, and deliver world-class results. You’ll be the ultimate teammate, collaborating with department leaders while also demonstrating engaging thought leadership in client presentations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide creative thought leadership and guidance for the design team on projects related to print, experiential, environmental, social media, and digital design.

  • Lead the creative development process, building comprehensive creative concepts and graphic systems for activations, campaigns, and experiential spaces.

  • Act as the creative author on concurrent projects, independently developing and orchestrating creative solutions from the initial brief to final execution.

  • Execute and implement various creative assets, upholding brand guidelines and ensuring a demonstrated attention to detail in proofing all files for correct specs, colors, copy, and more.

  • Problem-solve and pivot quickly in a nimble, fast-paced environment, effectively navigating internal and external feedback.

  • Liaise with department leaders, internal contacts, and production teams to review project briefs, determine content needs, and align on creative direction.

  • Confidently present and pitch concepts to internal and external teams, walking them through ideas, concepts, and creative solutions.

  • Manage and mentor junior to mid-level designers, fostering their growth and ensuring the team's success.

  • Uphold the highest standards of the organization and represent the team with professionalism.

  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail in proofing of all print and digital files for correct specs, colors, copy, links, spelling, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ creative and/or art direction experience with a focus on sports.

  • A strong conceptually-driven portfolio of work that provides examples of live venue presentation, design and animation, A/V, wayfinding, OOH, and social media marketing.

  • Demonstrated command of composition, color, motion theory, and design thinking.

  • A mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Proficiency with After Effects and Premiere is a valuable plus.

  • Experience managing and mentoring junior to mid-level designers.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with experiential and production teams to develop environmental activations.

  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to present, pitch, and navigate client feedback.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field preferred.

  • Working knowledge of live-action production and VFX a plus.

Location

This is a hybrid role in our Los Angeles office.

Compensation:

The annual base salary for this position is in the range of $95,000 - $157,000 in Los Angeles, CA. This position is also eligible for benefits and a discretionary bonus. Ultimately, the salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in the role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria.
